What is the sunset cruise?
It's a 2-hour boat trip from Al Mouj Marina timed around sunset. You cruise along the coast as the light softens, watch the sun go down over the Gulf of Oman and head back to the marina as the lights come on along the shore.
There's no swimming or snorkelling involved. Just sit back, enjoy the view and something to eat and drink — food, water, juice and soft drinks are included.

What you'll see
Leaving the marina, you'll see the coastline and the Hajar Mountains behind the city. As the sun gets lower, the mountains turn orange and pink and the sea becomes calm and glassy. On many evenings, dolphins are spotted along the coast — sightings are never guaranteed, but always a treat.
Tips for the best experience
Arrive 15 minutes early. Sunset doesn't wait, and neither does the boat.
Bring a light layer. Even in summer the breeze on the water can feel cool after dark, especially from November to March.
Photos. Shoot during the "golden hour" before sunset for warm light, and keep shooting for 15–20 minutes after the sun disappears — the sky is often at its most colourful then. Turn off your flash.
Motion sickness. The sea is usually calm in the evening, but if you're sensitive, take a tablet before departure and sit in the middle of the boat.
